Tips & Notes
- More preserves = more flavor: Start with 2 tablespoons and add more for a sweeter, more intense blueberry-basil taste.
- Make a pitcher: Muddle a larger batch of blueberries and preserves, refrigerate for up to 3 days, and add sparkling water and ice per glass when ready to serve.
- Make it a cocktail: Add 1–2 oz of gin or vodka — gin especially pairs beautifully with the basil and lemon notes.
- Strain for a cleaner drink: Pour through a fine mesh strainer after muddling for a smoother, more elegant presentation.
Flavor Pairings We Love
- Serve with: Blueberry Goat Cheese Crostini, a light cheese board, or fresh fruit
- Try also: Mrs. Ruth's Simply Blueberry Preserves or Very Berry Jam as a swap for a simpler, less herbal version
- Garnish upgrade: A few fresh basil leaves torn and floated on top add a beautiful aromatic finish
