Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons very finely chopped red onion or shallot
- 6 oz finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 (10 oz) jar Mrs. Ruth's Roasted Pineapple Habanero Chutney, to taste
To Serve
- Crackers, pita chips, or pretzels
- Fresh vegetables: celery, carrots, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips
Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, red onion, and shredded cheddar. Mix until well blended.
- Stir in Mrs. Ruth's Roasted Pineapple Habanero Chutney to taste — start with half the jar and add more for extra heat and sweetness.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to let the flavors meld.
- Serve chilled with crackers, pita chips, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.
Tips & Notes
- Room temperature cream cheese: Softened cream cheese blends much more smoothly — pull it out 30 minutes before starting.
- Adjust the heat: Use half the jar for a milder dip, the whole jar for full sweet-heat flavor.
- Make it ahead: This dip is even better the next day after the flavors have had time to develop. Make it the night before for best results.
- Serve as a spread: Works beautifully spread on a sandwich, burger, or grilled chicken wrap.
- Storage: Keeps refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
