Mrs. Ruth's Chipotle Blackberry Glazed Ribs

Sweet, smoky, and just the right amount of heat — Mrs. Ruth's Chipotle Blackberry Jam transforms a rack of ribs into a showstopper. The deep berry sweetness plays perfectly against the smoky chipotle, creating a glaze that caramelizes beautifully on the grill or in the oven.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 2.5–3 hours | Total Time: 3 hours 15 minutes | Servings: 4–6

Ingredients

  • 1 rack baby back ribs (about 2.5–3 lbs)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ cup Mrs. Ruth's Chipotle Blackberry Jam, divided
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Fresh blackberries and chopped parsley, for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
  2. Combine salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub all over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Wrap ribs tightly in foil and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 2.5 hours until tender.
  4. Meanwhile, whisk together ¼ cup of the jam with apple cider vinegar to make the glaze.
  5. Remove ribs from foil. Brush generously with the glaze.
  6. Increase oven to 425°F (or move to a hot grill) and cook uncovered for 10–15 minutes until the glaze is caramelized and sticky.
  7. Rest for 5 minutes, slice, and serve with remaining jam on the side.

Tips & Notes

  • Low and slow is key: The long oven time ensures fall-off-the-bone tenderness before the glaze goes on.
  • Grill finish: A few minutes over direct flame adds beautiful char and smokiness that complements the chipotle.
  • Make it a meal: Serve alongside coleslaw, cornbread, or roasted sweet potatoes.
  • Heat level: The chipotle brings a warm, smoky heat — not fiery. Add a pinch of cayenne to the rub if you want more kick.
