Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Mrs. Ruth's Simply Blackberry Jam
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 handful fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
- 1 handful fresh blackberries, plus more for garnish
- ½ cup water
- 1 (12 oz) can seltzer water
- Ice
- 2 lime wedges for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Place jam in a microwave-safe container and microwave in 10-second increments until softened and pourable.
- In a cocktail shaker or sealed jar, combine the softened jam, lime juice, blackberries, mint leaves, and water.
- Shake vigorously until very well blended and the blackberries are broken down.
- Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the mixture evenly between the glasses, straining if desired.
- Top each glass with about ½ can (∼1 cup) of seltzer. Stir gently.
- Garnish with fresh blackberries, mint leaves, and a lime wedge. Serve immediately.
Tips & Notes
- Strain for a cleaner drink: Pour through a fine mesh strainer to remove mint and blackberry seeds for a smoother, more elegant presentation.
- Make a big batch: Multiply the jam mixture and refrigerate it for up to 3 days — just add seltzer and ice when ready to serve.
- Add a kick: A splash of ginger beer in place of plain seltzer adds a spicy, effervescent twist.
Flavor Pairings We Love
- Serve with: Blackberry Goat Cheese Crostini, a charcuterie board, or light summer appetizers
- Try also: Mrs. Ruth's Very Berry Jam or Strawberry Lemonade Jam as a swap for a different fruity twist
- Garnish upgrade: A sprig of fresh rosemary or a pinch of flaky sea salt on the rim adds a sophisticated finish
