Ingredients
- 1 package refrigerated puff pastry sheets
- 8 oz deli ham, sliced
- 8 oz Swiss cheese, sliced
- 10 oz Mrs. Ruth's Balsamic Fig Jam, plus more for drizzling
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface and cut into 8 equal rectangles using a pizza cutter.
- Lay a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each rectangle.
- Spoon 1 tablespoon of Mrs. Ruth's Balsamic Fig Jam over each rectangle, spreading evenly.
- Starting from the long side, roll each rectangle into a tight log.
- Slice each log into ½-inch thick rounds (they will look like pinwheels) and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 15 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with additional Balsamic Fig Jam, if desired. Serve warm.
Tips & Notes
- Refrigerated vs. frozen pastry: Refrigerated puff pastry is ready to use straight from the package. If using frozen, thaw to room temperature before starting.
- Keep it tight: Roll the logs as snugly as possible so the pinwheels hold their shape during baking.
- Chill before slicing: If the logs feel soft, refrigerate for 10 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
- Jam swap: Mrs. Ruth's Savory Apple Jam or Appley Dappley Jam work beautifully here as alternatives.
- Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5–7 minutes to re-crisp the pastry.
